"Out of Plain Sight" wins audience choice award at SBIFF
Documentary featuring the team makes waves in West Coast premier

Members of the Valentine lab joined the filmmakers, other scientists featured in the film, and the UCSB community to celebrate the West Coast premier of "Out of Plain Sight". Thanks to the incredible storytelling and support from the community, the film was awarded the Audience Choice Award at the 2025 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. We really enjoyed watching this story come together, and hope it will inspire audiences to continue research and advocacy on the DDT problem in California.
